Folgefonna

An amazing view on a beautiful day, at ca. 1460 m. above sea level overlooking Folgefonna, Norway's southernmost glacier.[1]

The day before we had been traveling from the village Sunndal in Mauranger by the Hardangerfjord[2] on Isvegen to Lake Bondhus- the 'Iceroad', so called due to the work of carrying down blocks of ice[3] from the nearby Bondhusbrea (an offshoot from Folgefonna). Here another road popularly known as Keiserstien[4] winds its way up to Gardshammarseter[5] and continues to Breidablikk[6] cabin, and finally to Fonnabu[7] cabin at the side of Folgefonna, where we stayed the night.
